Kaan Certel, Ph.D.
Chief Business Officer
Dr. Kaan Certel joined Omega Therapeutics as Chief Business Officer with a track record of successfully driving strategic partnerships, corporate development, growth and innovation in the biopharmaceutical industry. Most recently, Dr. Certel served as the Chief Business Officer at BioCity Biopharma, a clinical-stage oncology company, where he spearheaded business and corporate development efforts, positioning the company for success in a competitive landscape.
Prior to his role at BioCity, Dr. Certel was Head of Oncology External Innovation at Sanofi. In that role, he led a global team in identifying and executing strategic partnerships to revitalize Sanofi’s internal oncology pipeline. Before his tenure in large pharma, Kaan’s professional journey took him to new venture creation and successful exit in the oncology and autoimmune disease therapeutic areas.
Dr. Certel received a Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Iowa and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
